Behind the magic

In October 2014, a few family members sat around talking about Santacon - those festive bar crawls happening in cities across the country - and thought, "We could do something like that in Rochester." But they wanted to make it mean something more. They wanted it to give back.

In just a few short weeks, the very first Kringle Krawl for a Cause was born, raising $1,500 for Ronald McDonald House. What started as a simple idea among family members has grown into a beloved Rochester tradition, bringing hundreds of people together every December in their ugliest sweaters for a day of holiday cheer and charitable giving.

Over the past decade, Kringle Krawl has supported incredible local organizations, including Camp Good Days, Pirate Toy Fund, Open Door Mission, Pancreatic Cancer Association, and more. The event has grown from that initial $1,500 to raising as much as $12,000 in a single year, with nearly $75,000 donated to Rochester-area charities overall. Ten years later, the spirit remains the same - gather the community, celebrate the season, and make a real difference for families who need it most. Here's to another decade of ugly sweaters, holiday magic, and giving back to Rochester.
